A Set Of Rare Words and the Secret Service

Thank you

It should not be a rare thing to see the words "Thank you", but it is of late.

Linked is an op-ed written by Colbert King of the Washington Post, this op-ed is for sure in the top five articles that I have read in the post-election time period.

For me I was amazed and very happy to see thanks given to the United States Secret Service. We have all read about the plot to attempt to murder then senator Obama; but of no surprise whatsoever you can read that there have been many. You can bet a buck that President-Elect Obama's detail (that is what you call the men and women who in total Gard him) will be huge. Huge in comparison to say that of President Carter. To be sure when he is on the road and in the open.

These men and women are very special. We all read all to often of the death and injury to the people of the law enforcement community and at each instance shake our heads in disdain - or YOU SHOULD. Lets just hope and Pray that all the nuts are caught way before they get close to the first family and one of them has to lay his life on the line.

Today, Saturday November 8th, I caught the tail end of a news story on two such outstanding men, on the Today Show. One of them (Secret Service man) had a rare liver illness and needed a live partial transplant. After all normal donors were deemed not a match his partner got tested and WAS a match. So much is the depth of the friendship of law enforcement partners that he had the co-operation to give part of his liver to his partner so he could live. Both men, thank God, are okay and have returned to service, in the Presidential Detail.

{I tried to find the video on the Today Show's web site to no avail. I emailed them but doubt there will be any reply. IF there is i will edit this story at that time.}
