Seattle police kill suspect in officer slayings

I am glad this man resisted and was shot dead (of course I am bias having been in law enforcement) otherwise he would be free for years as the courts tossed all the legal games.

Comments about the article:

A very well written article that shows two very important sides among others: That parole needs review and that those who helped this murderer are going to be punished.

Wheels of Justice At A Crawl

A police officer committing this kind of crime is appalling, as it cast such a dark cloud over the working of decent and honest men of the fine law enforcement Organizations. Further I sure would like to know how here the wheels of justice slowed to a snails pace. This crime took place in 2007 and he just now (17JUL09) pleads guilty and to make it worse, will not be scheduled for sentancing until November 18. What went so wrong in the federal courts? But we know the federal justice system is missing hundreds of judges that have been held up in both the Senate and the White House- for many a year!

As for CNN & the Author, I made these comments:

There is no explanation of why there is such a delay in justice, the offense occurred in 2007, now in 2009 he pleads guilty. Wheres the why.

A Doctor by Choice, a Businessman by Necessity

Having personally been a billing & IT manager at a multi specialty practice I saw the money problems first hand. One of the biggest was the large/long time delay from billing till payment was received, our states Medicaid averaged over 60>180 days, Medicare was not much better and our ICD-9 coding was excellent. The other side was fighting doctor to place aged accounts in collection- in a timely manner. All that said the costs of a practice are huge and add the paperwork. Doctors fighting modernization is a big big hurt to cost reduction, to many are stuck in there ways. Just went to a fully computerized practice and no surprise it was a very young outstanding doctor who DID give great patient care.

Age Discrimination

A most important item of news revealing a grossest error of the Roberts' Supreme Court.

That employees now will have the burden of proof in age discrimination cases is just totally wrong of the Supreme court to have "Written Law" again; Congress must now act to correct this travisty of injustice. Glad to see that Senator Patrick Leahy, the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, agrees.

The BULLY PULPIT at work in the US Senate

This is a horrid state of affairs with out the tax provision the only way to keep the stupid trillion ceiling is to deeply cut coverage to what 95% of the population- thus a huge cut of coverage for the poor. Or what cuts in transplants, chemo-therapy, medications; the list of cuts is open ended. Why the cave in now after today's upbeat news from the White House???

CALL THE POLICE

There is no link to this thought but it is really starting to annoy me that all the television show people who have some crime happen to them and they take the word of the person who committed the crime's word:  DO NOT CALL THE POLICE.

This is really so mad, bad, wrong.  People need to be educated that the Police are the one's that they must call.  TV should be educating people that it is OK and what the police due to help and how they solve crimes-  they do not make matters worse.

I Am Outraged At This

That the following matter even became a press item due to the Republicans leaves me so outraged that I had to post it here in my blog.

Below is my comment as posted to Politico's Comment Section- to this link:

That the (stupid party of no) takes issue with
The President & First Lady having a night out,
just makes for understanding of why they are
the party of no.  They have nothing better to
do but make a fuss over things they shouldn't,
while the people of America wait on important
matters in the House to be discussed.
The party of no has no clue!!

North Korea's Threats

To those who think this is NOT a serious matter:

"You obviously have never studied history.

As bad as the two nukes we dropped on Japan were, the incendiary bombs that we dropped were more destructive, and actually killed more people.

But morons like you don't understand what was going on. Liberals never bother to learn history, which is why you always repeat the same mistakes over and over.

At the time, Japan had dug in. They were not going to give up, and America was going to invade Japan to stop the war. Emperor Hirohito (who was God to the Japanese people) had ordered every single man woman and child to arm themselves, and fight to the death.

The estimates on the first wave of the invasion were 1 million dead, on BOTH sides!

One can easily make the case, that as horrific as the bombs were, they actually saved millions of American and Japanese lives!

Stupid liberal."

SouthLAnd - Fantastic Television

SouthLAnd  is simply fantastic television.

Under Gunned Phoenix Police Lose 11 Rifles

The city of Phoenix (Arizona) Police Department has lost 11 rifles!!  I will admit it could be accounting errors, the extreme danger is that the department only has rifles for a very few, 1 in 10, of its officers and will NOT allow their men to arm them selves with their own rifles which all the men have been fighting for the right to do so for years.

Another case of Stupid Arizona.

11 Phoenix PD rifles missing; estimated value is $6,400 - Ph

A union leader is calling it a dangerous situation, but police officials say it's too early to become too alarmed. That a police department lost it's own rifles which are in a horrid shortage is just bad

Policy On Contraceptive Court Rules. Blog Thoughts

FDA Ordered to Rethink Age Restriction for Plan B
Judge Says Politics Influenced Policy on the Contraceptive

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I posted these comments to the Washington Post's Blog:

OUTSTANDING, in these modern times of high
crime the FDA has totally no write to set moral
policy. This was done I am sure at Bush's
direction and under President Obama the Policy
will be corrected.

This is a victory on so many levels!!

AND:

This link shows a quote from Politico fromthe President today [12MAR09] that if there was harm to US citizens he would consider National Gard Troops at the boarder.  Here in Phoenix (AZ) we have had almost 500 people alone kidnapped by the drug lords of Mexico.

Below is an additional link that I just found on CNN about a "Sleeper Cell" here in the USA involving teen killers.

Stress, Taxes, & Cigarettes. Another Hit.

The State Children’s Health Insurance Program has been signed into law, and with it yet another tax per pack of cigarettes. {Don't get me wrong this is an excellent law, the manner in which it is being funded is another matter entirely!}

------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------

But the way this Bill will be paid for is totally wrong - yet another tax on those of us who choose to smoke.  An addittional tax during such a bad economic time and those who are smokers and are out fighting to find a job and all the other related stress and smoking, like it or not, helps relieve stress.  Should you say see a doctor and "take a pill" have any of you tried to get a doctor to wright a script for stress -- get real because the doctor will say no.

A little compassion in these times would really be nice, instead of yet another kick in the ass!! or should I have said mouth.

Is this an Obama Apology?

Is this the President-Elect's apology to the gay community.

[I am adding this note after deeper thought - which is what my blog is about!!]

Thank you President-Elect Obama.
I was disappointed at your first choice,
very disappointed. But allowing the Bishop
to speak Sunday is a wonderful way to include
us in the weeks events and the fantastic
history that it will be known for. But we will
never know if it is, as I'm sure it is,
a political act. Had it not been political you
would have made some sort of announcement
within hours of your first bad choice. But again
thank you for thinking of us whatever the
reason - thoughts are very important.

Presidential Late Appointments - Must Stop

President Bush yesterday appointed 45 people to jobs of one kind or another for terms to run till January 20th 2009 or up to (6) SIX YEARS from now.

Blair House No Vacancy, An Update

Smokers Have Rights Too

Congress is about to add more regulations and taxes to cigarette's this has got to stop.

We smokers have rights too.

The taxation rates on tobacco exceeds almost all other, per, rates.

What is this the BOSTON TEA PARTY all over again.

The Majority Can Not Always Rule Supreme Over The Minority!!

The minority groups in America have rights and the larger groups or a grouping of other minorities should not be able to take the rights of one group away by any vote.

If this were to be allowed and you look back in time the slaves would still be slaves.  It is as simple as that.

It is almost shameful how far behind the rest of the free world America  is when it comes to civil rights; and with out question when you consider gay rights.

On Gay Rights America is the discrimination capital of the world - there I said it!!
