Hudson River Miracle

Kudos to the fantastic "Pilot of Pilot's" and his
entire crew. Plus a job well done to the makers
of the plane. And lastly a darn you to mother
nature for NOT designing bird with a better pea
brain - to get out of the way; even if we are in
their sky's.

An Op-Ed that is a Must Read {Prop 8} & Gay Rights

The majority should never be able to rule over those of a minority. If that had been allowed the USA would still have slaves.

Is this an Obama Apology?

Is this the President-Elect's apology to the gay community.

[I am adding this note after deeper thought - which is what my blog is about!!]

Thank you President-Elect Obama.
I was disappointed at your first choice,
very disappointed. But allowing the Bishop
to speak Sunday is a wonderful way to include
us in the weeks events and the fantastic
history that it will be known for. But we will
never know if it is, as I'm sure it is,
a political act. Had it not been political you
would have made some sort of announcement
within hours of your first bad choice. But again
thank you for thinking of us whatever the
reason - thoughts are very important.

May I suggest you read this article also:

Presidential Late Appointments - Must Stop

President Bush yesterday appointed 45 people to jobs of one kind or another for terms to run till January 20th 2009 or up to (6) SIX YEARS from now.

We need to do something to stop this appointment policy for going forward.  It is wrong.

Blair House No Vacancy, An Update

I found this on another news blog this morning:  It seems a retired PM from Australia is staying at Blair House.  As stated in the blog I now too wonder why he couldn't stay at their Embassy.

Anytime after January 20th I would not want to be an Australian asking for a favor from the United States, now would I?

{It is about three hours later and I found an article to back up this post and I have LINKED it to the main blog!}

Smokers Have Rights Too

Congress is about to add more regulations and taxes to cigarette's this has got to stop.

We smokers have rights too.

The taxation rates on tobacco exceeds almost all other, per, rates.

What is this the BOSTON TEA PARTY all over again.

The Majority Can Not Always Rule Supreme Over The Minority!!

The minority groups in America have rights and the larger groups or a grouping of other minorities should not be able to take the rights of one group away by any vote.

If this were to be allowed and you look back in time the slaves would still be slaves.  It is as simple as that.

It is almost shameful how far behind the rest of the free world America  is when it comes to civil rights; and with out question when you consider gay rights.

On Gay Rights America is the discrimination capital of the world - there I said it!!

Military Ball -- Worldwide

"President-elect Obama is planning an inaugural ball exclusively for members
of the military, and his Presidential Inauguration Committee is working with the
Defense Department
to have the bash broadcast around the world."

I think this is just a wonderful, moral boosting thing to do for those in uniform.

Thank you President-elect Obama
